At last, the second EP from RABID GRANNIES is here! Its almost three years since their debut EP and they have spent there time totally devestating the Umea Scene building a large group of loyal followers. Rabid Grannies have during the years evolved towards a harder firmer sound that finds its inspiration in 80s bands like Negative Approache, Gang Green and Black Flag however this is a Swedish Punk record that holds Umea true, the DS13 and RANDY influences cant be missed. This is the perfect hybrid between the 80s US scene and the Umea late 90s scene with lot of rock influences, think of it like a Swedish version of Tear It Up, always rocking, always thrashing but still very very harsh....

Mass Grave hail from Vancouver, Canada, and have beein infesting the scene since 2004 with several records, and each one is always more brutal than the previous one. This is grind and even death metal fueled crust, think of Disrupt crossed with a pneumatic hammer: fast, violent, heavy!

Follow up to their previous 10", NBR second release are 4 new tracks of full throttle rocking Crustpunk/Hardcore... A slight D Beat is unmistakable but they don�t even come close to be just a "clone" hence their still ain�t "New" as well... this is a good follow up to bands like DOOMTOWN (but way more political motivated here!) and BOMBENALARM... actually they remind me alot of the latter... NEVER BUILT RUINS a a fusion from folx living in Switzerland and the (mentally) wastelands of south germany, are nice folx and you should check out this 7" right now! Comes in a nice Sleeve bag with well don artwork.

I have to say that you would be hard-pressed to name two finer examples of crushing melodic crust than the bands featured on this split. Asheville�s Kakistocracy espouses anarchist and environmentalist ideals without treading in the steps of countless other political hardcore bands. Instead, the lyrics are personal and more powerful than cheap sloganeering. They also get extra points for vocals that are as brutal and raging as their music no easy feat. Let�s not forget Nux Vomica, who hits the same target but comes from a more metallic place; not surprising since it�s ex- members of Wake Up On Fire. They succeed in the quiet, pretty refrain that turns into seething, unbridled rage that most bands in this genre try to pull of but don�t. Good stuff.
