| KONFRONTATION - NEDBRYTNINGSPROCESSEN |
| |
| Information |
| From the ashes of Bracca 3 and Requiem, Konfrontation was born in 1999. Releases such as Konfrontation (2000), Livslögnen (oct 2002) and High flying plans (a.k.a. the split 7" with Slicks, february 2003), the music has always been raging political crust with dual male vocalists.
Nedbrytningsprocessen are no exception. Twelve new songs, released as a gatefold 12" LP.
Some lineup changes during the years has made the sound more brutal, aggressive and fierce. Nedbrytningsprocessen are probably the most extreme material from the act up to date!
Split release with Dist and Confuzed, Container Rock productions, Not enough Records and Anarkopunx Records.

| Nedbrytningsprocessen written by Kristoffer Persson [My last Chapter, English] |
It must have been over a year ago (I think it was in 2004) since I was contacted by Konfrontation, asking me to be in on co-releasing their new recording Nedbrytningsprocessen. I declined their offer, and after a while it got very quiet... I dunno really know why, but they re-recorded it all, removed three songs and added six new tracks. And here it is - The final version of the album. This is 12 tracks of utter despair, anger and political rage. 12 tracks of brutal, raging crustcore. And it's fucking awesome!
It's no longer just straight on fast crust (which I loved), but they've added a tad melody and angst to it all, spicing it up a bit. While some tracks are right in your face, bitch-slapping you again and again, other moments chills your body and almost numbs your mind. And the ending of Underkastelse is one of the latter ones. The two screaming vocalists are replaced by a deep shouting throat, and the words he speaks and the message he brings could easily make you cry. I can't quite explain it, but it's a very powerful moment.
Nedbrytningsprocessen contains some absolutely killer riffing, strong melodies, powerful drumming and wicked vocals. Not to mention stark artwork and great lyrics. And it should easily satisfy any fan of crustcore. I have only one complaint, and that is that they vocals sound like they were recorded in the back of an old factory warehouse, and the guys were standing a couple of yards away from the mic. It sounds a bit weak in the mix. But other than that - Top notch! |
